A live recording from Christmastime 1992 at Nakano SunPlaza, Instant Replay shows the band drawing from their full catalog, not just touring on the success of Sweet Pizzicato Five. Tokyo's Coolest Combo back the group on several numbers, including a stripped-down and mellowed-out "Twiggy Twiggy," "They All Laughed," and "What Now Our Love." Yasuharu Konishi and Keitaro Takanami wisely choose to not recreate the dense arrangements of the studio versions, but make up for it on more rocking versions of "Shock Treatment" (with mainstay Haruo Kubota on guitar) and "Catchy." It's not the best place to start for new fans, but for those who know the songs, it's an interesting addition to the collection.
